In Mark 9:2, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John with Him for a little field trip. This field trip underscores the confession that “Jesus is the Christ” (8:29)
The book of Mark is significantly shorter than the three other Gospels. Mark seems to target the Romans as his primary audience of readers and does this by presenting Jesus as a suffering servant.
